I have lots of memories playing this wonderful game with my older brother in the late 70s and early 80s. He was always the skinnys or the spiders.a The spider scenarios were my favorites. The sudden opening of the ground aand the arachnids pouring out was an adrenaline rush! The organizing of which troopers got what special weapons was like deciding which G. Joe Would get to carry the B.A.R. In your mock battle in the backyard. Seems the trooper with the weapon you needed most always got grabbed by an arachnid and dragged into the tunnels.

The map was covered in KIA and Wounded markers. I lost so many men and battles, but loved every second of it. Played in last on December 24th 2016. I was finally the Archnid, for a change. My brother got the taste of defeat. Nuke launchers always felt OP to me.But yes, it's a neat game.I don't remember them that way; instead they were a STRONG deterrent for the bug player to not stack.and don't forget the bugs got nuke mines at the same time. I REALLY loved those.
Oh the found memory of getting my arse kicked for the entire game only to watch as his recovery beacon lands ON TOP of my nuke mine.This game begs for a good PC treatment; or a remake with BIG (and I mean REALLY BIG) hexes for the huge stacks. Don't monkey with the rules, just reprint.My over-valued 2 cents.
